*NON PAYMENT OF PARTY SALARIES IN ANINRI: Sen. Ekweremadu takes over payment of PDP structures in Aninri.* A situation that could have snowballed into a major political crisis in Aninri seems to have been arrested by the quick intervention of Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, the former deputy senate president of the federal republic of Nigeria and the senator representing Enugu West Senatorial district. Recall that the local government and ward party executives of PDP in Aninri, had yesterday March 29, 2022 accused Hon. Victor Okoro, the chairman of Aninri local government area of hoarding the party salaries for personal gains. In the open letter, the aggrieved party officials had threatened to let heaven loose should Hon. Victor fail to release their salaries to them. Worried over the development and in search of peaceful resolution of the quagmire, Sen. Ekweremadu, earlier today March 30, 2022 released money for the immediate payment of all the local government and ward party executives in Aninri local government area. Reacting, the jubilant party officials whom most of them have now received their salaries, expressed joy and happiness to the people's senator for rescuing them from the abysmal situation that the leadership of Hon. Victor Okoro has subjected them into for years now. They vowed to stand firmly with Sen. Ekweremadu in all circumstances, the way and manner he is standing with them now in their time of need. They regretted all the ill treatment that have been melted out on them by Hon. Okoro, since the inception of their tenure and vowed never to have anything to do with Hon. Victor in the nearest future. They urged the state leadership of PDP to hence fort recognise Hon. Uche Anthony, the deputy chairman of the party in Aninri as the acting party chairman in Aninri local government area, if they would ever want them to attend any party activities being organized by the local or state government till further notice. As we report, local markets in Aninri were visibly very busy, since the commencement of the payment earlier today. The starved party officials were seen transacting businesses with boldness.
