We the concerned freeborn of Amankanu Ohofia Autonomous Community , Oduma in Aninri local government Area of Enugu state were constrained to respond with pains in our heart over the spurious allegations making the rounds in the social media outlets alleging that the Executive chairman Aninri Local Government Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku is meddling in the affairs of Amankanu community in order to impose an in-law as traditional ruler , thereby subverting Amankanu community's constitution as gazetted.
The executive chairman has not done so but has used his good office to bring lasting peace in our community and facilitated smooth, peaceful and fair transition to the existing town union interim caretaker of the community.

The so called faceless Chief Charles Mbah who claimed to be a concerned citizen is an impostor. If not let him disclose his real identity with his family name traced to Amankanu community.
The mayor of Aninri was born into a royal family and knows what custom, tradition, and traditional stool is all about and can't override the provisions of a community's constitution.
As bonafide citizens of our dear community, we have ancestral sharing formula for things or positions. We followed the same order in our gazetted constitution by Enugu state government and it has been strictly adhered to in our zoning arrangement for the traditional ruler stool to the first clan Umuoro , the selection/ nomination process is still ongoing and there was never a time anybody was elected, selected or nominated as the traditional ruler.
In dislodging the blatant falsehood as speculated, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku has not imposed anybody on any persons or group but officially received the people of Umuoro on a courtesy visit to his office where they sought his intervention so that other stronger clans should stop intimidating them and allow them to nominate/ select a credible candidate as the constitution demanded from their clan.
We dismissed the false claims that the council boss almost lost his position for his alleged involvement in Amankanu chieftaincy affairs. He is law abiding and never commit any contempt of court.
Enough of all these cheap smear campaign masterminded to undermine the hard earned reputation and integrity of the executive chairman of Aninri by desperate power hawk who are bent to arrogate power upon themselves at all dubious means.
Mayor is ever committed to serving our people with integrity, transparency , accountability and equality hence his appointment of numerous aides from Amankanu community.
We unequivocally deny any involvement of Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku in the alleged imposition of a traditional ruler in our community and state categorically that these claims are spurious, unfounded, misleading allegations and has no legal validity
The general public and the media hunters are hereby warned to dismiss the news as extraneous and verify adequately any information before spreading it to the public to avoid being guilty of character assassination
The chairman reserve the right to seek legal action for any damage done to his person by these malicious allegations and prosecute perpetuators accordingly.
Please our community is peaceful, law abiding and our selection process of our traditional ruler is going on seamlessly as contained in our constitution.
We urge our executive chairman not to be discouraged or distracted by desperate hawks. We are solidly behind him and his visionary administration.
We appeal to Enugu state government and the general public to disregard gangaroo article calling on government to call Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku to order.
